It seems that I have been making plenty of covers lately lol. Our blender has passed away and we bought one of those food processors. The storage is well thought out because all the elements are stacked up but I was worried about the dust. Say hello to our new kitchen gadget:

Y aquí con su funda:

And here it is with its cover:

I think it was in November when I started the lacy beret from Simply Crochet magazine. I do not know what's wrong with me but I always get confused with the instructions of the magazine and just finish things my way. So I made the beret bigger and I also had to make some changes so the star can be seen wide open. The idea is easy: crochet a flower or star in rounds, join the petals or spikes with chains and continue working in rounds to make the beret.

This weekend I discovered Dunelm Mill with their fabric section and I already have other things in mind.

Finally, Mariano continues with his Sunday habit of making bread. Today he has made pita bread from Paul Hollywwod's book.

See you soon

This weekend we have stayed in enjoying a quiet time, which feels good every now and then. We have managed to do a little DIY, a tissue box cover and bread.

I had a gourgeous fabric from
Hobbycraft which I bought with no project in mind and has been great for the cover. I want to make another one and we'll see if I repeat fabric.

It can not be easier. Take as the pattern the box of the tissue brand you use, cut open the base and sides. Copy the template on paper and add seam allowance, I left 1 cm on the sides and about 3 cm at the base for the hem. Sew the sides and opening for the tissues. I made the opening rectangular because it seemed easier. I have cut the rectangle, made a small cut at each corner and I have rolled it like a hem.

Today Mariano has baked bread following a recipe fromt the Paul Hollywood's book that I gave him for his birthday. This second attempt has turned out much better and there are many recipes to try.

Caja, pan y magdalenas ::: Box, bread and cupcakes

I wanted to make a box for two reasons: to practice using interfacing and organize my stuff. The fabrics are very bright, I bought them at the flea market from Benicalap in Valencia without no idea of what to do with them. The interfacing is from Hobbycraft and I think I will not buy anymore of this type hehe. It's the heavy one, which does not fuse to the fabric and it is very difficult to handle it. Anyway I am happy with the result and the box is already on the shelf in the bathroom.

Hoy hemos comido pan rústico, rico, rico.

Mariano continues baking bread and every time gets better. Today we had country bread, delicious!

Now we had the oven on I used it to make some cupcakes. The recipe is from Asda, I love collecting recipes from magazines. They are the best I have tasted so far, fluffy and juicy. You have the link to the magazine here, but please let me know if you are not able to see it properly and I will write down the recipe for you. By the way, have you seen that gourgeous teapot in the picture? We have bought it last weekend during one or our trips but I will tell you about it in the next post. Have a nice week.

See you soon
